Incredible Conference Table/Office Desk Hybrid by Jovo Bozhinovski: “
This astonishing desk was designed by Bulgarian designer Jovo Bozhinovski and produced by Elza Design. Here is the description we received from the developers: ‘The project is created as per order of a construction company from Bulgaria. The assignment was to design an office, which to be different and remembered. Constructing the functions, we had the idea to make a hybrid between the desk of the manager of the company and a conference table, which he needs in order to organize meetings with clients, as well as the working meetings with its personnel. This piece of furniture turned into and accent of this office and gave it a unique appearance. Led by the fact that the main activity of the company is construction, we have decided that we have to design a product, which to be clearly constructively built with a visible construction, a modern vision and innovation in the organizing of the working space. We have tried to embody the main principles of this construction company in a unique piece of furniture, which occupies a central place in this office and has a unique appearance.’ Can you see the elegance behind a deign created by a construction company?

Bang! or How to Literally Shoot Off the Lights Before Bed: “
If you thought clapping your hands in order to turn off the lights was cool, wait ’till you see this crazy idea. Bang! comes from Bitplay and is a lamp like any other at a first glance. The only thing that could arouse suspicion is the fact that it doesn’t come with a switch, but with a gun instead. When the user no longer needs light, he or she can simply take the ‘white weapon’, point it at the lamp and shoot. This action will determine the lights to go off and the lampshade to move sideways. A second gun trigger will have the reverse effect. This idea could be implemented in teens’ bedroom, but adults could also be targeted (we are referring to their consumer potential here). What do you think? Could this idea compete with clapping when it comes to turning off the light every night?

Calendar Scarf: “

This 2011 Calendar Scarf is a beauty. It’s almost poetic how you are supposed to pull on the yarn as time goes by.

8-Bit hanger: “

This 8-Bit hanger made me chuckle. Perfect for an interactive studio, no? I am tempted to get one right next to my desk, so I can hang my headphones when not in use!

Matthias Pugin’s kinetic, magnetic clock: “
Yet another wicked idea for an update on the humble digital clock, this one using magnets that ‘disappear’ into the frame:
Called Switchital, the concept was designed by Switzerland-based Matthias Pugin. Check out more of Pugin’s stuff on Coroflot.

Arthur Bodolec’s “living” furniture: “

Paris-based Arthur Bodolec’s Jack chairs are ‘furniture that comes alive.’ It’s a bit difficult to convey the coolness with still photos, so check out the vid below (which starts slow, action starts around 1:00):

Ceiling Painted By Light [Concepts]: “
At the moment, our choice of lighting is fairly committal. We drill holes in our ceilings for permanent placements of bulbs. But LEDs open all sorts of other possibilities.
It’s not hard to imagine a ceiling covered in RGB LEDs, like Seo Dong-Hun’s Draw the Lights concept. Equipped with a few sensors, a laser (or IR) pen could ‘paint’ an array of light, allowing you to customize your entire living space in a manner not unlike a Philips LivingColors lamp…only a lot more immersive.
